Food Ingredients

Maxum Foods works with you, our food manufacturing customers to firstly determine the most suitable source of dairy ingredients for your desired application. We then source, store (if required) and deliver these ingredients within rigid time frames to your door. Our systems are reliable but flexible and we move with your demands. We service our customers from our cold and dry warehouse facilities in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Launceston. Our global, export customers are serviced out of our Brisbane office.

Animal Nutrition

Maxum Foods (together with our sister company – Performance Probiotics), delivers a quality range of milk powder products to the calf, piggery, lamb and domestic animal industries in Australia, New Zealand and SE Asia. Our brands currently include True Blue, Performance and Lucky. We have a 4000kg dry blending facility where we manufacture these products to standardized and stringent quality protocols. This facility can also be used to manufacture ‘specialty blends’ that suit your own individual application. Our facilities are HAACP, ISO and AQIS approved.

Health and Nutrition

Maxum Foods Health and Nutrition Division supplies bulk Nutritional Dairy Powders to individuals and businesses involved in General Health, Muscle Building, Weight Loss, Recovery and other Specific Dietary Areas. We wholesale these products in bulk (minimum 20kg bags) in their natural form. Products include Whey Protein, Milk Protein, Colostrum Powder, Caseinates and more.

Background:

I was born and raised on Central Queensland Cattle Stations until attending boarding school and University (B. Bus – Agribusiness) in SE Queensland. I have always been involved in, and passionate about Agribusiness, working in the grain, stock feed, cotton and dairy industries. In 2003, I founded Maxum Foods with Dustin Boughton in Brisbane where I have been living since 1999. My wife Megan and I have recently started an instant family by having twins, Hugo and Ellie.

Background:

I grew up on the Sunshine Coast enjoying many of the benefits this location offers - surfing, fishing, camping & playing football. From there I moved to Brisbane & completed a Business Marketing degree. I have now been in the dairy industry for 15 years, working for Fonterra & other dairy organizations travelling the world importing & exporting product. My family & I now reside & work in Brisbane. These various roles revolved around product management to sales & marketing. In 2003, Ben Woodhouse & I commenced Maxum Foods with a desire to offer customers a greater level of service. My philosophy is to treat people as you would expect to be treated & this has lead to many of our customers becoming long term personal friends. We are passionate about the dairy industry & servicing our customers with quality ingredients to assist them in growing their businesses.

Background:

I was born and raised in Montville on the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast Qld. After attending boarding school in Brisbane I moved to Goondiwindi for a stint of Jackarooing with good mate and now Maxum team member, Tom Newton. After a 2 year stint travelling in the USA and Europe and completing a Diploma of Agribusiness, I found myself working at Maxum Foods, becoming a partner in the business in 2007.

Position: Director of First Impressions Background:

I was born in Townsville and moved to Brisbane with family when I was 12 years old, and completed my secondary schooling here. After school I did an exchange program on the far east coast of Canada and completed year 12 again whilst traveling the provinces of the winter wonderland. After my travels around Canada, I caught the bug and have continued to travel and work my way around the world for the last 6 years. I have recently returned to Australia with a strong desire and focus towards my career and future.

I was born and raised on a sheep and stone fruit property near Stanthorpe in South East Queensland, and attended secondary school in Brisbane and then studied Rural Business Management at Orange Agricultural College in Central West NSW. I then moved into a broad acre agronomy role with a private Farm Management Consulting company in Goondiwindi. After a stint of travelling overseas and some time at home working in the family business I started with Maxum Foods in January 2006.

Company History

Maxum Foods was founded in 2003 by Ben Woodhouse and Dustin Boughton, bringing together over 22 years of experience in the Australian and Global Dairy Industry.

 

The niche for Maxum Foods was (and still is) to deliver dairy ingredients to food manufacturers on time and in full, from 1 pallet to full truck and container loads. With further rationalization of the Australian Dairy Industry, it was obvious that some of the focus was softening around the service levels offered to our customers - Food Manufacturers. These customers require quality product to be delivered on time and in full, every time - and that is the Maxum Foods Model.

 

Maxum Foods is a small, but extremely focused and energetic company. We deliver above and beyond our customer’s expectations.

 

Since 2003, Maxum Foods has been awarded Australia’s Fastest Growing Business (BRW Magazine) in 2006, Australia’s 15th Fastest Growing Business (BRW Magazine) in 2007 and was a finalist in the NAB Agribusiness of the Year Award in 2007 (won by Graincorp).

 

In 2007, the directors of Maxum Foods acquired Performance Probiotics (see www.performanceprobiotics.com.au ) which is a Probiotic Feed Additive that assists Dairy Farmers with milk production and animal health. This strengthens Maxum Foods involvement in the supply chain of the Australian Dairy Industry, from the farm, to the end consumer of dairy products.
